Most of the time, working with a score you interact with a basic rhythmic item of the composition called Rhythmic event.
Rhythmic event is a simultaneous sound of several notes of the same voice on the same track.
It can contain:
- 1 Single note
- 2 Group of notes with one stem
- 3 Chord
- 4 Rest
- 5 Empty placeholder (implicit rest)
The rhythmic event should not be confused with a beat. Beat can either include a rhythmic event or be a part of it.
In the versions prior to 5.4.8, Rhythmic Events were called Musical Events.
