Score (or sheet music) is a basic form of representation of a musical composition.
In terms of Staventabs, composition is a multi-level structure of musical elements and objects. These objects have different attributes. For example, bars are characterized by tempo and time signatures, and the main parameter of a note is the pitch. Some elements can contain others as well as be a part of higher level objects themselves. As an example, a rhythmic event includes notes, and at the same time belongs both to a bar and to a voice.
The process of arrangement and drawing of musical symbols which correspond to the elements of a composition is automated. Thus, editing of a musical piece implies simply the creation of new objects and modification of their properties. You donā€™t need to spend much time trying to place and align correctly a new notehead or a tuplet.
