Notate articulations

Let's now mark articulations such as slur and accents in our score.

1. Select the initial notes of the group of the beamed sixteenth notes on the upper staff.

   

2. In order to place a slur, you need to select only such positions of notes, at which the slur begins or continues, excluding the position at which the slur ends.

   Holding the Shift key, click on the third position in the group of the beamed sixteenth notes.

   

3. Press the Slur button in the right sidebar.

   

4. Now, choose the first position in the group of the beamed eighth notes.

   

5. Click and hold the round indicator at the bottom right of the selection area. Once the selection is no longer outlined by dashed lines and the vertical borders become solid, drag to the right until the notes up to the rest symbol are selected.

   

6. Click the Accents button in the left sidebar to open the Accents pane.

   

7. In the Accents pane, choose Staccato .
