Delete notes

There are several ways of deleting notes: Delete action, Clear action, and toggling a pitch in the Pitches pane.

  1. To remove the selected notes and their positions, press the Delete Delete key. The selection will switch to the preceding position.

  2. Press Command‑Z Command Z to undo the last action and bring the notes back.

  3. To select the notes in the penultimate position, click within the rectangle area surrounding the noteheads and stem of these notes. The selection box will highlight this area.

  4. Press Shift‑Delete Shift Delete to clear all the notes in the selected position preserving the space for entering new notes.

  5. For now, press Command‑Z Command Z . As we need to remove only one note and add another, we will make use of the Pitches pane.

  6. In the Pitches pane, click on the highlighted B3 pitch button to delete only this note.

  7. Add note F4 via the Pitches pane.

  8. Press Command‑Right Arrow Command Arrow Right to select the last position in the score.
